Old Lyme, CT (Top40 Charts/ Sennheiser) - During its exhibition at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2010 next week, aviation headset manufacturer Sennheiser and The Flying Musicians Association will present a series of performances by Ravi "The Raviator," a popular pilot, motivational speaker and musician who-as a member of The Flying Musicians-tours the world bringing renewed passion to the aviation industry.
Ravi, who professionally endorses Sennheiser music and aviation products and regularly presents motivational lectures and training sessions on a variety of aviation topics including hearing protection, is a professional guitarist who has played with the hit group Hanson. Whether he is on the stage or in the cockpit, Ravi relies on Sennheiser. While in flight, he uses the Sennheiser HMEC 460 noise cancelling headsets, and while onstage, he uses Sennheiser's wireless mics and in-ear monitoring systems.
Each day between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., the Sennheiser tent (located at space 270 just outside Hanger A) will feature performances by members of The Flying Musicians Association. Ravi will be performing at the following times:
 Monday, July 26th, 11 a.m.
 Thursday, July 29th, 12 p.m.
 Friday, July 30th, 12 p.m.
In addition, EAA Radio will host an interview and performance from Ravi at the EAA Welcome Center on Saturday, July 31st at 11:00 a.m. The broadcast is open to all and Ravi will discuss topics including hearing safety, among other subjects. Ravi will also host the following lectures:
Saturday, July 31st, 1:00 p.m. - "Why Everyone Should Learn to Fly" (at the EAA Learn
To Fly Discovery Center)
Saturday, July 31st, 4:00 p.m. - "Grow Student Enrollment and Keep Them Longer" (at
the Forums Gama Pavilion 2)
Bridging Music and Aviation
As both a pilot and professional musician, Ravi recognizes the passion-and dedication-associated with each field: "Whether it is music or flying, you have to really love it to do it because the obstacles can be significant," Ravi commented. "Flying is a 'left brain' activity, while playing music is right. The knowledge and skills of one activity actually enhances the execution of the other. Sennheiser-with its aviation headsets and well-known music-related products-bridges both of these pursuits and understands the underlying passion."
Ravi describes himself as a 'blues-based guitar player' and got his big break in the entertainment industry touring with Hanson. Ever since, he has been a passionate singer/songwriter, performing for audiences all around the world. "Between music and aviation, I've professionally endorsed Sennheiser for over a decade and personally know the folks behind these products. There is no one I trust more with my sound and safety in the air and on the stage," Ravi commented.
