Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Cinemedia Promotions) - La-La Land Records will release the Predators - Original Soundtrack on August 10, 2010. John Debney (Iron Man 2, Sin City) composed the original score, which incorporates Alan Silvestri's iconic themes from the original Predator films into his propulsive score. 'Re-boots of iconic films can be very tricky,' described Debney, 'yet after viewing the first two reels I was hooked. I also love Alan Silvestri's magnificent score for the first film. So, I asked myself how in the world could I write a Predator score without utilizing themes and motifs from Alan's masterwork. I decided that I would embrace the music that IS Predator and create a companion piece utilizing themes from the first score.'

Debney's approach includes recording many custom sounds and instruments, 'including the Tibetan long horns that create the squeals and screams during the 'Hound Attack' scene.' He continues, 'Manipulated metal scrapes and ethnic percussion highlight the advanced yet brutally primitive quality of the Predators and their world. '

Academy Award-nominated John Debney is one of the most prolific and successful composers in Hollywood. His unique ability to create memorable music across a variety of genres, along with his reputation for being remarkably collaborative, have made him the first choice of top level producers and directors. Debney combines his classical training and a strong knowledge of contemporary sounds to easily adapt to any assignment. Debney was recently the profile of an 11-page feature in Daily Variety entitled "The Billion Dollar Composer" because his movies have grossed nearly four billion dollars.

Debney quickly established himself as a formidable film composer across a wide range of genres, working repeatedly with several noted directors, including Garry Marshall on The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement and Raising Helen; Jon Favreau on Elf and Zathura; Tom Shadyac on Liar Liar, Dragonfly and Bruce Almighty; and Predators producer Robert Rodriguez on Sin City, The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, Spy Kids, Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams.

Although Debney had built an industry reputation as a talented film composer, it was in 2004 that the rest of the world discovered him. Blending symphonic orchestra, a wide range of world instruments and the beauty of the human voice, Debney's landmark score for The Passion of the Christ became a world-wide success. The score earned him an Academy Award nomination, a Gold record and a Dove award.

John Debney's recent projects include scoring Hanna Montana: The Movie, Valentine's Day (reuniting with director Garry Marshall) and The Stoning of Soraya M. Debney recently reunited for a third time with director Jon Favreau by scoring the highly anticipated Marvel action film Iron Man 2.

Robert Rodriguez presents Predators, a bold new chapter in the Predator universe, shot under the creative auspices of Robert Rodriguez, stars Adrien Brody as Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they've been brought together on an alien planet...as prey. With the notable exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers-mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members-human 'predators' that are now being systematically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators. Predators also stars Laurence Fishburne, Danny Trejo and Topher Grace, directed by Nimrod Antal and is produced by Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, Desperado, Planet Terror).

20th Century Fox presents a Robert Rodriguez film, Predators, in theaters on July 9, 2010. The Predators - Original Soundtrack on La-La Land Records will be on August 10, 2010.
