NY (Top40 Charts) - Jennifer Lopez, Staind, Britney Spears, and Ja Rule have been added to the list of performers for the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, set for Sept. 6 at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York.

Newly added presenters, meanwhile, include Aaliyah, Macy Gray, Nelly, Shakira, Jewel, Mark Wahlberg, Shaquille O'Neal, Will Ferrell, and Christopher Walken, who stars in the most-nominated video of the night, Fatboy Slim's "Weapon of Choice".
As previously announced, the show, hosted by Jamie Foxx, will also feature performances by U2, 'NSync, Missy Elliott, and Alicia Key
