Manchester, TN (Top40 Charts/ Bunks Muzak) - Have you ever wondered what
Simon and Garfunkel on crunk juice riding around in a drop-top '64 with the
Beastie Boys sounds like? Today is your lucky day. BUNKS will be giving away their new album Soul
Rebel Music as a free download from their website until
September 1, 2010.
After that, it will be available for $1 (one week only), then $2 (one week only), and so on until it appears on iTunes, Amazon, and Rhapsody for full price of $9.99.
If you signed up for their mailing list between February 15 and March 15, 2010, you already have an autographed copy of the physical CD. "We were running to the post office every other day mailing out stacks of CDs. I know the people at the post office will never forget BUNKS," says Derrian, the man responsible for the Generica album cover.
Why are these Coffee County boys so generous?
"We would rather you have BUNKS music in your stereo, than not. We've never cared about money," says Joshua Smotherman, also known as Smo. The other half of the duo, Joshua Grosch (Gro) elaborates, "Despite all the people that know about us and have shown love to us for the past 10 years, there's 10 more years worth of people that haven't heard about the BUNKS movement yet. Every day we wake up and start over. That's why we are still giving away music without a second thought."
Recently being chosen as The Murfreesboro Pulses' Artist Spotlight in April 2010 and taking 3rd place in Daily News Journal's and BoroParty.com's Battle of the Bands, Smo and Gro are not slowing down.
If you join their mailing list, they will give you access to their free music site where members are allowed to listen and download everything the BUNKS have recorded since they started back in 1999. You can also find quite a bit of music from other artists in the Middle Tennessee area which BUNKS have worked with.
Visit www.bunksmuzak.com to keep up with the movement.
