About the Performers (in order of appearance):

The Chain Gang of 1974: Kamtin Mohager, the shape-shifting singer/multi-instrumentalist behind the Chain Gang of 1974, loves '80s music, but don't confuse the band with other Reagan-era revivalists. Mohager's innate sense of rhythm tends to force fans at his live shows to uncross their arms and dance; or inspires them to bum-rush the stage and join in on the jamming. White Guts, the Gang's most recent release, funnels three years of instrument-swapping, sample-splicing experience into a lean, focused listen. www.myspace.com/thechaingangof1974

Body Language: Brooklyn-based Body Language, which consists of four body linguists, has risen from DIY-venue basements to backing up Theophilus London and collaborating with Passion Pit. Armed with synths, vocoder, glockenspiel, percussion and three graceful voices, Band Language's beat-driven crusade through New York has been burning holes in dance floors, providing an outlet to showcase their five-track EP, Speaks. www.myspace.com/bodylanguage

Boy Crisis: One part funk, two parts electro-funk, and ten parts electro-sex-funk, Boy Crisis combines all these genres to make you feel like grooving whether you want to or not. Consisting of five former Wesleyan Pop Conservatory students, Boy Crisis's influences include Prince, Quincy Jones, Tom Tom Club, Sade and KC and the Sunshine Band. Their upcoming, self-titled debut will attempt to contain the uncontainable, lashing together the bombastic blast of endorphins and sending pop enthusiasts to the dance floor. www.myspace.com/boycrisis

Neon Hitch: From rough beginnings in London, to the slick production of current executive producer Benny Blanco (Ke$ha, Katy Perry), Neon Hitch's evolving assemblage of soulful pop and hip-hop beats has reflected changes on a personal level. For Hitch, it's the connection with the audience that counts - and her collaboration with 3OH!3 on "Follow Me Down" has connected with many. www.myspace.com/neonhitch

The Golden Filter: With double drumming, crystalline analog synths and vocalist Penelope's frantic otherworldly energy, The Golden Filter are a ferocious and dramatic live act that has extensively toured the U.S. twice (once with The Presets, and once headlining), as well as the U.K. and a European festival tour in 2010. If that wasn't enough, they occasionally pour their magical production skills into remixing fellow artists like Yeasayer, Cut Copy, and Peter Bjorn and John. www.thegoldenfilter.com

Dan Black: Dan Black first caught recognition back in 2008 with "HYPNTZ", the Notorious BIG cover that brought Black from unsigned obscurity to being lauded by critics and bloggers as one of 2010's most promising breakthroughs. Black's debut, ((UN)) (2009), offers his kaleidoscopic future-pop that invokes Sigur Ros as much as it does Flying Lotus or Timbaland. www.myspace.com/danblacksound
