Santa Monica, CA (Top40 Charts/ 429 Records) - Platinum-selling and current chart toppers the Gin Blossoms are taking time out in November to head to Iraq and perform a special series of concerts for the troops stationed there. The Gin Blossoms are scheduled to arrive in time for their first show in Kuwait on November 23, and then travel to Iraq for a series of 4 more concerts to take place in as yet undisclosed cities, including a special Thanksgiving Day concert. The band will return to the U.S. on December 2nd. The Gin Blossoms' new album, "NO CHOCOLATE CAKE," which debuted at No 73 on Billboard's Top 200 chart, is available everywhere on 429 Records. "I love and respect all our soldiers. My brother was a U.S. marine and it helped make him the most patriotic and trustworthy man I know. I hope all our troops can return home soon. Gin Blossoms will be very proud to perform for our troops," says Robin Wilson of the Iraq concerts. With total worldwide album sales topping 10 million units powered by their indelibly melodic, Grammy-nominated Top Ten singles, Gin Blossoms-Robin Wilson, Jesse Valenzuela, Scott Johnson and Bill Leen, are back and in peak form. "Gin Blossoms tug at the heart strings like few pop bands...power pop nirvana," says the San Antonio Express-News of "NO CHOCOLATE CAKE." The eleven new tracks were written, produced and performed by the band with the help of John Richardson (drums) and Danny Wilde on keyboards and additional production (of The Rembrandts). The band will be touring extensively throughout 2010 and 2011.
