Aylesford UK (Top40 Charts/ Door2Tour Official Website) - Door2Tour.com's latest concert revenue figures show that
Barry Manilow is set to outstrip the likes of super-smooth Michael Buble,
Daniel O'Donnell and even Brit legend
Cliff Richard in terms of concert package sales to date. The coach holidays specialist consolidator website has reported that currently gross sales for the American singer-songwriter, who is performing at the 02 arena in London for 4 nights next May, are just a whisker behind those for Cliff's 'Bold As Brass' 70th celebration tour, with Manilow just 1.5% away from becoming the company's all time top of the pops.
Hotel and concert breaks for Manilow went on sale in July, and with an extra date now confirmed for 7th May it's likely that Barry will take the crown as the company's most popular concert act ever. Cliff, whose breaks were on sale for six months between March and September, is expected to come a close second, followed by Michael Buble (19% of concert sales) and popular Irish crooner Daniel O'Donnell (15%), who performs on 5th Dec in Birmingham.
The news is likely to go down well with avid Fanilows, whose idol has sold over 80 million records worldwide, won countless music awards and was revered by Frank Sinatra and Bob Dylan alike.
Kate Glanfield, web manager of Door2Tour.com, said: "Event fever is up at the moment with event sales for 2011 already up 33% on last year, but thanks to the return of a few big acts on the concert scene, we're even giving our Christmas Market sales a run for their money at this time of year."
The company anticipates that its recently released concert breaks to English blues-rock guitarist Eric Clapton, who is performing at the iconic Royal Albert Hall next May, will prove just as popular if not more successful than Manilow.
Kate concluded: "It's been a great couple of years for concerts and based on the music packages we've got lined up, and other acts that we know will be touring soon, who stays holding the record could be a very different story next year."
Tickets for 6th May have now sold out, but Fanilows can still catch the man himself at the 02 on 7th May with a 'Make Your Own Way' break from Door2Tour.com.
