New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Excellence Records) - Magic is happening in a small Cookham studio - just like it was back in the Sixties and Seventies. A Glaswegian singer/songwriter who is making waves in the music industry has created his dbut single in Station Studios in the village, owned by none other than legendary producer Stuart Epps. Danny Shah, 19, completed his soulful track 'Universe' in a single day with Stuart, who set up his own recording studio after the closure of Mill Studios in the village, where he worked for its owner and eccentric producer Gus Dudgeon to create music with the likes of Elton John, Chris Rea, Jimmy Page, George Michael and George Harrison - to name a few.

The heyday may have gone but the music is still alive and kicking, and Stuart says he is wallowing in the good old days through making new music with the next generation.

Danny, whose single is now available to download, creates music which has been described as 'raw and organic, experimental acoustic rock fused with melodic hooks and evocative lyrics'.

Stuart said: "Danny is has a great voice, is a great lad, and has a great song. It was a pleasure to work with him. I have worked with some great singers and he is one of those guys who gets in front of the microphone and is naturally brilliant."

The man who has also worked with Robbie Williams, Oasis, Led Zeppelin and Bill Wyman was sent some tracks by Danny's manager Sam Crompton, and Universe was one he was drawn to in particular. He added: "This song is right up my street and harps back to the late Sixties and Seventies, which is very close to my heart. I am amazed a 19-year-old has written one of those kind of songs. Paul Simon is the closest thing I would liken it to, although others would compare someone more contemporary."

Stuart, speaking of the single, said it would be fantastic if Danny's song was to become a huge hit and that he would be proud if it did, especially because the recording took place in one day and proving that music can still be made in a relatively small space and 'create that magic'.

Stuart brought in Paul Hirsh, of Seventies rock band Voyager fame, to play keyboards on the track.

The producer is unsure whether villagers know the extent of the history that has been made on their doorsteps over the years, and the iconic, revolutionary and famous music that has come out of it.

Stuart added: "Those years were pretty amazing. I became a real Cookham village person so I get a kick out of the fact that it's all local and I am waving the flag for the local scene."

He says he would like to work more with local bands, having already put Maidenhead and Slough-based Wings of Pegasus on his books, and he is encouraging neighbouring musicians to get in touch.

"I am always interested to hear local bands and want to record more with them."
