New York, NY (TOP40 Charts/ Maturo Music) -- On Friday Nov. 26th, Brooklyn based world-crossover group Matuto hosts an evening of "Brazilian Bluegrass" at Littlefield Performance and Art Space in Brooklyn, NY. This triple bill celebrates roots musics of North and South America. Starting with the incredible Michael Daves and his pure bluegrass sound straight from Appalachia, followed by Matuto and their unique hybrid of Americana and Forro, we'll travel further south ending with SambaTown and the authentic sounds of Rio De Janiero, Brazil. Come dance to a dynamic mix of PanAmerican influences and enjoy the sounds of master musicians with fresh perspectives on deep roots.

MICHAEL DAVES (9PM) -
Best known for his collaborations with bluegrass superstar Chris Thile, Michael was born in 1977 in the southern empire of Atlanta, Georgia. Soon after, he began to make loud noises, so his loving parents put music instruments in front of him. It was a good plan. He grew up in that grand tradition of staying up late & singing real loud. Although he's since moved north, the humid south remains in heart and sinus cavities.

MATUTO (10PM) -
Imagine the sound of a Brazilian Carnaval in the Appalachian Mountains. A sound where exotic percussion instruments rumble beneath blues drenched vocals, telecaster twangs, accordion acrobatics, and folksy fiddle tunes. Now, imagine these sounds in the hands of some of NYC's finest young improvisers as they light up club and festival stages worldwide. Through the unorthodox blend of Brazilian Percussion and American Bluegrass, Matuto has created an organic, animated sound all its own. "Irresistible... Imaginiative Improvising" (Los Angeles Times), "America's finest purveyors of the forrv= sound" (San Francisco Bay Guardian)

SAMBATOWN! (11PM) -
Authentic Samba and Pagode from Rio with all the flavor and ginga (swing) necessary to keep your feet moving. It's the sounds of Rio in New York; a shortcut to Lapa (a traditionally musical Rio neighbohhood). It's the party within. Not to be missed if you want to exorcize the gloomy vibes of winter.
