New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) - El DeBarge earned multiple standing ovations last night for his 3 performances at the Soul Train Awards. This appearance kicks off a November tour as he prepares to release his long-awaited new album, 'Second Chance' (Nov. 30 / Geffen Records). From his astounding performance at the BET Awards this summer, to an Ebony cover story that has outsold all other issues this year, and rave coverage in the New York Times and USA Today among others, El DeBarge is building a historic comeback.
El and Faith Evans kicked off the "purple carpet" with a performance of "Lay With You." On the main stage El's tribute of Sweet Love to Anita Baker brought tears to her eyes. In her delight back stage she said "What are you doing here? You're supposed to be on the road. I just can't believe you are here to sing to me."

Many celebs like Jesse Jackson, Ne-Yo, Ron Isley, Ray J, TLC's Chili, dropped in to Hug, take a photo, or briefly chat with the iconic El DeBarge. Host Terence Howard popped in for an impromptu dressing room jam session.

El ended the night in a dazzling performance of At Your Best in tribute to Ron Isley.

Earlier this week, El DeBarge debuted the music video for his first single "Lay With You" feat. Faith Evans on BET's 106 & Park - watch it on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qr2ItWYzbSw

About 'Second Chance'
Co-executive produced by Ron Fair and Pete Farmer, 'Second Chance' featurescollaborations with Faith Evans ("Lay With You"), 50 Cent ("Format"), and Fabolous ("5 Seconds"). It also unites El DeBarge with some of music's most notable hitmakers, including co-writing and co-production by Babyface, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Mike City, Michael Angelo, Mischke, and the Avila Brothers.

'Second Chance' brings the "voice of love" back to loyal fans and introduces the tender falsetto to a whole new generation. Of the album's sound, Debarge says, "It's joyful. You'll laugh with me, you'll cry with me. All of it is feel-good music; the classic El DeBarge sound. Up-tempo tracks, slow ballads and full of harmonies."
