CHICAGO, Ill. (R. Kelly Fan Websites) - Attorneys for R. Kelly filed 11 motions yesterday contesting the validity of the case against the singer who faces multiple child pornography charges for allegedly possessing a tape showing him engaged in sex acts with an under-aged girl.

The lawyers for Kelly are seeking the complete dismissal of the charges because the prosecution failed to specify the date of the alleged crime. They are arguing that this leaves open the possibility that the girl may have been old enough to legally consent to sex at the time she is shown on the tape. Prosecutors have declined to comment on the defense team's motions.
Kelly's next court appearance is scheduled for Feb. 6.
