New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Redwood Entertainment) - Demir Demirkan will be performing live on Friday, December 24, 2010 at 10:00 PM and December 25 at 3:00 AM at the legendary Drom Bar & Restaurant in New York City. Demir Demirkan couldn't possibly find enough hooks to hang the many hats that personify his bounty of talents: master guitarist, producer, singer, songwriter, arranger, film composer and actor. He is renowned as the principal collaborator with superstar Sertab Erener, co-penning her 2003 winning Eurovision Turkish entry and global hit 'Every Way That I Can' and more recently on the their self-titled first English language international collaboration Painted on Water.

This innovative work was co-produced by Demir and Jay Newland, a multi-Grammy-winning-producer (Norah Jones' Come Away with Me). In addition to these accomplishments, Demirkan has maintained a hit solo career and burgeoning presence composing instrumental documentary, TV and feature film scores.

'Demirkan's... superb guitar skills are displayed across the set, and the musicianship throughout is extraordinary'
-Dave Thompson All Music Guide

Demir Demirkan's and Sertab Erener's recent collaborations began a few years earlier when she became intrigued by Demirkan's previous successful work with Sebnem Ferah (both Ferah and Erener were proteges of Turkey's most famous female vocalist, Sezen Aksu), and she asked him to produce her third album Sertab Gibi. Turkish record labels recognized that Demirkan had fueled a stylistic revolution with both Ferah and Erener, advancing the nation's popular music scene past decades of traditional folk.

While working with Sertab, Demirkan's career took another turn when record executives observed fans waiting in line for his autograph at her concerts, which led to an offer to record a solo project for Sony. The album was truly a one-man show: He played all instruments, wrote, arranged, produced and sang vocals. In 2002, he followed with the solo CD Dunya Benim.

Next, Sertab's 'Every Way That I Can' became Turkey's first win ever in the prestigious Eurovison Song Contest and the song, co-written by Demirkan, reached No. 1 in Turkey, Sweden, Greece and the top 10 in Belgium, Austria, Spain, and the U.K. Top 75, selling 400,000 copies. Meanwhile, Demirkan and Sertab formed their own record label, Simya Muzik, on which he released his third solo album that reflected his musical roots, with gritty guitars and a hard rock template. 2004 Istanbul was ultimately released in 11 nations. In 2007, he released fourth album Ates Yagmurunda Cirilciplak, and followed with, Yolun Yarisi, both on Simya Muzik.
