New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Spin Doctor Pr Firm) Musician, Josh Tifer, best known as the lead guitarist for the award winning Philadelphia metal band, Chemical Dependency, is in south Florida preparing the release of his yet untitled debut EP. He was a staple in the East Coast metal scene through-out the 2000's, writing, recording and touring with Chemical Dependency.
Tifer recently went down a different musical road, producing the latest installment of Universal Records Musician, Michael Barber's, Motion Picture Mayhem series. Barber had stated he wanted to get a more rock edge and sound to his tracks, and brought in Tifer to do so. The results seem to be promising, as MPM3 has more of a rock sound to it and is being downloaded on a record pace. Tifer was the Executive Producer of the album, put out for free online. Tifer also added live guitars, piano, and added vocals to the album.
Barber and Tifer seemed to like the alliance of working as a pair, hip hop and metal, rock and rap, and they are planning a 2011 album together.
Tifer is set to produce his entire album, playing and writing all of the instrumentation. The current untitled EP, should be available online this spring. Tifer has stated that it will feature everything from hard metal to more of a melodic sounding songs with hints of the Beatles and Stone Temple Pilots.
Josh Tifer is an all around musician, playing, writing, and even mixing his own songs on an industry level standard, as seen on Motion Picture Mayhem 3. It seems like a sure thing for a hit this spring.
Josh Tifer, of the rock band, Chemical Dependency, will release his debut single and EP this spring. Tifer has worked in the studio with the likes of Green Day and Def Tones.
