NEW YORK (Billboard) - The Counting Crows have extended their summer tour, originally covering only the West Coast, with 11 new dates. The trek kicks off July 6 in San Diego and will travel as far as North Carolina before closing in San Diego on Sept. 7. The Crows are road-testing material from their forthcoming fourth Geffen-Interscope album, which is being produced by Dennis Herring and Cracker's David Lowery. Meanwhile, Crows frontman Adam Duritz will be heard guesting on a track from ex-Whiskeytown principal Ryan Adams' next Lost Highway solo album. The album, "Gold," is due in late August.
