Trin-i-tee 5:7 will release their new CD, titled
Angel and Chanelle, in stores May 2011. Trin-i-tee 5:7, which is now a duo, was the Best Selling Female Gospel Trio in music history.
The New Orleans natives and original group members, Chanelle Haynes and Angel Taylor, have been putting the final touches on their new CD project. "The album is a celebration of truly loving the life that God has given us," said Chanelle. "Every song is a reflection of our everyday reality mingled with God's message."
This week, "Over and Over" debuted at No 24 on Billboard's Hot Gospel Song chart. The single is No 1 Most Added on Billboard's Top Gospel Singles chart with a first week listening audience of over 1.1 million. "Over and Over" was also the No 1 Most Increased Spins (+318) at radio. In addition, the single was on the Gospel Indicator Most Increased Spins list.
"Over and Over," is produced by and features GRAMMY(R) Award, GMA Dove Award and Stellar Award winner P.J. Morton (India.Arie, Men of Standard, DeWayne Wood). "The song has already changed our lives," said Chanelle. "It reminds us to appreciate the blessings that are right before us instead of looking for the next best thing." Angel and Chanelle believe fans will fall in love with this song and will keep it in their hearts for a long time.
"The initial response to 'Over and Over' at radio has been amazing," said Mathew Knowles, founder, President and CEO of Music World Entertainment. "Trin-i-tee 5:7 are extraordinary vocalists and among the best of the best. The new CD is uniquely diverse and will be successful at multiple radio formats. We are marketing this project to gospel, Christian and urban mainstream. Stay tuned."
Within one hour of servicing the single to radio, rave reviews started pouring in from radio programmers and DJs across the country. "Trin-i-tee 5:7 has a history of being one of the greatest contemporary inspirational groups of our time-always delivering," said Ace Alexander, National Music Director of Sheridan Gospel Network. "But some of us, especially in radio, were wondering what the future would hold for these talented ladies since transitioning from trio to duo. But seeing and hearing them, I can honestly say 'Watch out for this dynamic duo.' Trin-i-tee 5:7's new song 'Over and Over' reminds us that there is nothing on this earth like God's grace and mercy. This song should be played over and over again. Trust me, people need to hear it."
Radio One's nationally syndicated host Coco Brother said his audience is extremely excited about this record and it was the Quick Pick of the week. "This is a great look for the new group, Trin-i-tee 5:7. It's a song you will play over and over." And Willie Mae McIver, host of the nationally syndicated "Beyond The Praise," concurs, "'Over and Over' is like an inspirational lullaby. A simple, yet moving, meaningful, and powerful ministry tool-reminding us just how forgiving and good God is. Thanks Trin-i-tee 5:7, and congratulations on your next hit!"
All the way from the UK, DJ G of BBC's "The Urban Gospel Experience" declared "One play of this track is not enough. Can't wait to see Trin-i-tee 5:7 do this live in England."
