Cyclone Records Releases The Sevenate's Debut Cd, Revolve
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Cyclone Records) It's official: after a 2 year long courtship, Toronto-based "diamond rock" quintet THE SEVENATE have signed with Canadian label Cyclone Records for national distribution and worldwide internet sales of their first album, "Revolve", set to arrive in stores in March.

The album opens with a balls-to-the-wall firestarter titled "Junkie" and immediately the sound quality jumps out at you. This is no lo-fi, garage production but an album that can easily stand side by side with some of the best sounding albums in rock...

REVOLVE hits you like a dashboard in a frontal collision. One after the other, the songs stick in your head and make you want to play air guitar and jump all over your apartment like a demented rock star! This is song writing at its finest; from the haunting Goth-tinged melody of "Sister Jezebelle" to the larger-than-life power ballad "It All Revolves Around You", complete with live strings and piano, The Sevenate doesn't compromise when it comes to sound and these songs fly high above the bland & simplistic fare that passes for good rock music nowadays. There is enough variety from song to song to keep things interesting and yet it still sounds cohesive. Every song is strong and adds to the album as a whole, there simply are no fillers: This is an album, not just a collection of singles.

Moe Berg, producer, songwriter and former member of The Pursuit Of Happiness says "these songs bring back the 70's in all the good ways, a time when rock stars where rock stars!"

The Sevenate frontman Eloha calls their music style "Diamond Rock": - "My songs were created by decades of playing show after show, year after year, polishing my art under incredible amounts of pressure and songwriting... the result is music that is rare and beautiful, and it has many facets of influences... It's the hardest rock and yet it's perfectly shiny and brilliant... Like a diamond!".

Eloha has paid his dues more than most artists ever do. In the 90s, he was known as Chriss Lee, fronting Canada's No 1 rated goth band, Talamasca. But then things got complicated. On December 9th, 1997 it all ended; Chriss Lee's death by overdose-suicide, followed by an even greater shock: His "resurrection" two months later to the great consternation of all Talamasca fans and Montreal's media who had reported at length his passing, with heartfelt articles detailing the importance of the mark he left on the city's soundscape.

It all came from a misunderstanding: The rest of Talamasca received a call from his girlfriend en route to the hospital, announcing Chriss' death but never got a call when he was revived...

Flashforward to the present: Eloha explains "My life changed radically. I am a very different person now. Chriss sang mostly about all that is messed-up in this world... I sing a lot more about possibilities, about hope and change. I didn't think I would live to be an old man and I didn't think the World had much of a chance to get better but now I think we might make it..."

"On our album Revolve, I sing about being allergic to cops, allergic to murder, allergic to guns, allergic to Springer, give me the medicine, give us all the science..., I want to celebrate being alive, being in love or in lust, I want to celebrate good friends and beauty, and creating beautiful art because I want that legacy to live forever! It all revolves around you; you are important and you can change the World."

THE SEVENATE does it by communicating with their fans, one crowd at a time...

...And through their first album, a tour-de-force work of major songwriting, showing the rest of the World what they are missing by not taking Canadian music seriously. Founded in 2005 by Eloha, hard-hitting and dynamic drummer Manny Dasilva (Gut Truck, The Mahones, Telejet, Random Order) and guitarist-singer Hem Advani (The Rails, Universal Love Attack) The Sevenate passed through a series of incarnations with various bass players, performing all over their home turf of Toronto and southern Ontario, slowly making a name for themselves and developing their sound. Joined in January 2010 by bassman Brian Richards (Goldirocks, Garler) and later the same year by virtuoso lead guitarist Ben Raftus, The Sevenate returns in 2011 with their strongest line-up to date.
