Adele Hits Number One And Makes Chart History!
LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) Adele's latest song 'Someone Like You,' which she sang live at the BRIT awards show, moved up from 47 to take the top singles position! Returning with an altered format, the BRIT Awards remain one of the biggest events in the British music industry. Watched by an audience of millions, any major moment finds its way onto the internet.
Performing a stripped down version of 'Someone Like You' Adele stormed the show. Arguably overshadowing the entire event, the performance ends with the singer in tears and the crowd on their feet.

She also held on to the number one slot for a fourth week with her second album '21'.

Adele's earlier single, a cover of Bob Dylan's Make You Feel My Love, moved up one place from 25 to 24.

The Official Charts Company said Adele was the first living artist to achieve the feat of two top five hits in both the Official Singles Chart and the Official Albums Chart simultaneously since The Beatles.

Back in January 1964, the Beatles' singles 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' and 'She Loves You,' were numbers two and five and their albums With The Beatles and Please Please Me were numbers one and two.
