Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ Doug Deutsch Publicity Services) Percussionist extraordinaire
William "Bubba" Bryant" is the Musical
Director for tomorrow night's star-studded celebration for NFL great Jim Brown's 75th Birthday at Club Nokia on Monday, February 21 at L.A. Live in downtown Los Angeles. The event happens from 6-10 p.m. and takes place in conjunction with the Amer-I-Can program, founded in 1988 by Brown.
Amer-I-Can's goal is to help enable individuals to meet their academic potential, to conform their behavior to acceptable society standards, and to improve the quality of their lives by equipping them with the critical life management skills to confidently and successfully contribute to society. The training initially focuses on attitude modification designed to heighten the individual's self esteem and motivate them toward positive behavior. Trainees quickly develop an understanding between cause and effect relationship, behavior and outcome and learn how to make better choices. By experiencing small but repeated positive behaviors, the trainees are able to realize their goals can be achieved through multiplying individual successes. With a positive attitude and a desire to improve their quality of life, trainees are taught the techniques of life skills and learn to take responsibility for their lives and destination through self determination.
For the past few years Bryant has been the full-time touring drummer for legendary R&B vocal group, The Temptations. Hailing from Nashville, Bryant's long and colorful career has found him playing, touring and/or recording with artists as diverse as George Benson, The Crusaders, The Whispers, Wayne Henderson, Jermaine Jackson, Ronnie Laws, Bobby Womack and the Backstreet Boys (the latter for which he served in the capacity of Musical Director/Drummer in support of the teen idol's Millennium Tour). Bryant was also Music Director on the television series, NED AND STACY. A prolific songwriter in his own right, Bryant plans to release his own debut CD in 2010. Bryant was profiled in MODERN DRUMMER magazine this past July.
