Prince has declared a string of Purple days in Oakland, bringing his extraordinary Welcome 2 America tour to the West Coast for the first time with the announcement of two shows next week at Oracle Arena. The concerts, scheduled for Monday, February 21st and Wednesday, February 23rd, will begin at 7:30 PM.
The announcement comes on the heels of six incredible shows in the New York area that wowed fans and raving critics with his singular stage presence, leaving them screaming for more each and every night. "We are thrilled that Prince will be performing at Oracle Arena." stated General Manager Mark Kaufman. "Working with Live Nation continues to allow us to bring top artists such as Prince to fans in the Bay Area."
Tickets for the Oakland shows go on sale this Friday, February 18th at 12:00 Noon PST at the Oracle Arena Box Office, charge by phone at 800-745-3000 and order online at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com
Tickets are $250.00, $129.50, $75.00 and $49.50 for reserved seats plus applicable charges.
Other top performers that have been announced to perform at Oracle Arena and Oakland Alameda County Coliseum during the 2011 season include The Monster Ball Tour featuring Lady Gaga on March 22nd, Lil' Wayne on April 24th, U2 360 Tour on June 7th, Rihanna on June 30th and Sade with special guest John Legend on Saturday, August 27th.
