R.E.M.'s New Album 'Collapse Into Now' Released!
LOS ANGELES, CA (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) R.E.M. release their eagerly awaited new studio album, Collapse Into Now, today, March 8th, on Warner Bros. Records. The album has already received glowing praise from such media outlets as Spin, Rolling Stone (which said the band 'roar back with Collapse Into Now'), and NPR, which wrote that the album 'reaffirms R.E.M. as a vital, thoughtful, and gifted band with plenty left to say.'

Collapse Into Now found R.E.M., which is singer Michael Stipe, guitarist Peter Buck, and bassist Mike Mills, re-teaming with Grammy Award-winning producer Jacknife Lee, who produced the band's acclaimed previous album Accelerate. R.E.M. and Lee recorded the album in New Orleans at the Music Shed, in Berlin at the famed Hansa Studios, and at the venerable Blackbird Studio in Nashville.

R.E.M. is also gearing up to roll out the Collapse Into Now Film Project, a selection of films accompanying each song on the album directed by notable artists and filmmakers and personally curated by Michael Stipe. The list of directors includes Oscar-nominated actor James Franco, filmmaker, photographer, and conceptual artist Sam Taylor-Wood, and Oscar-nominated documentary filmmaker Albert Maysles.
The films will be unveiled for viewing at broadcast and web outlets over the course of the next several weeks, so please stay tuned to remhq.com for schedule and details. Stipe will present a selection of the films on March 16th during the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, TX, at the Alamo Drafthouse (https://www.drafthouse.com/) hosted by IFC/Sundance.
