Nashville, Tennessee (Top40 Charts/ Webster PR) The Country Network (TCN) continues to aggressively expand its broadcast reach with the announcement of five new television markets being added as affiliates under terms of a newly signed pact with Kansas City, Missouri based Newport Television. New markets added under the TCN broadcast umbrella are: - Salt Lake City
- Fresno
- Little Rock
- Wichita
- Tulsa
The agreement calls for TCN to begin airing on the newly acquired affiliates in April. The association with Newport Television brings to 42 the number of stations carrying The Country Network. In making the announcement, Chris A. Butterick, President of TCN, notes: "The new alliance with a broadcast partner of the caliber of Newport Television adds even more conviction to our belief that the format of country music is providing potential affiliates and advertisers with a proven vehicle that is solidly connecting with the viewership. We are very encouraged by the continued market-to-market growth and we are firmly on track with the proposed goals for TCN in 2011." Notes Ken Reiner, VP of Programming for Newport Television: "Embracing new niche content on our digital-tier is an opportunity to expand our company's growth strategy, and TCN's diverse blend of local and national country content fills that niche. We are very excited about offering a fresh new short-form music network to all of the country music enthusiasts across our markets." The Country Network began operations in October 2010 from headquarters on historic Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee. Embracing a broadcast model of "All Country Music, All The Time," in programming an exclusive music video format, TCN has since rapidly become the nation's fastest growing new broadcast network with content available both over the air and on the majority of cable systems within its markets.
