Mccoy Tyner Trio And Savion Glover In Benefit Concert May 5
Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Ora's Alliance) On Thursday, May 5 at 7:30 p.m., Ora's Alliance, a non-profit organization, will present the First Annual Ora's Concert with McCoy Tyner Trio featuring Savion Glover at the prestigious Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) located at 505 Deaderick Street. The concert will benefit Vanderbilt's University's Division of Nephrology and Hypertension and American Kidney Fund.

Ora's Alliance is committed to building public awareness of kidney diseases, providing funding for valuable research and supporting organizations that serve patients who suffer with end stage kidney disease. The inspiration for the formation of the organization is Ora G. Manning, an educator and public servant, who succumbed to end stage renal disease after an illustrious career of service.

"As a physician, I battle this disease on the front lines of healthcare in my daily practice. I will not be satisfied until we develop a cure for this debilitating disease," said Dr. Greta Manning, M.D., chief executive officer, Ora's Alliance. Manning, an accomplished Christian jazz artist, is the opening act for Ora's Concert.

McCoy Tyner, four- time Grammy award-winning jazz legend and sole surviving member of the John Coltrane Quartet and Savion Glover, Tony award-winning tap master and co-choreographer of the Oscar award-winning movie, "Happy Feet," have combined their genres of music and dance to help eradicate kidney disease.

Vanderbilt University's Division of Nephrology and Hypertension is conducting cutting-edge research that may help improve the quality of life for kidney patients and the American Kidney Fund financially aids more than 80,000 patients annually with dialysis related expenses. Net proceeds from the concert will support the great work of these two organizations.

Tickets are available at www.tpac.org.
