New Chicago Festival Celebrates 85th Birthday Of Jazz Icon Miles Davis Running Through April 16, 2011
Chicago, IL (Top40 Charts/ Rogers And Cowan) Internationally renowned music icon Miles Davis, widely recognized as one of the most influential musicians in the history of jazz, is being celebrated with a four-month, citywide festival in Chicago running through April 16. The Miles Davis Festival was organized by the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University and includes a sprawling line-up of concerts, club dates and a world premiere dance performance, in paying homage to the 85th birthday of Davis, who was born in Alton, ILL.

Among the recent festival highlights include the Bitches Brew 40th Anniversary Band, which performed to a Sold-Out, Standing Room Only crowd at Martyrs. The impressive line-up featured classic Miles Davis alumni along with his nephew, Vince Wilburn, Jr. of Miles Davis Properties, LLC on drums and renowned turntablist DJ Logic.
