Masterworks Broadway Website 1st Anniversary/Contest
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Cinemedia Promotions) MASTERWORKSBROADWAY.COM, the comprehensive Broadway site "Where Show Tunes Take Center Stage," celebrates its first anniversary with the launch of the "Happy Hunting Contest." Beginning Monday, April 11, visitors to the site can explore its unparalleled collection of Broadway musical ephemera by participating in the scavenger hunt-type contest, with a grand prize trip for two to NYC and tickets to three Broadway shows. Other prizes include the entire Masterworks Broadway catalog (over 250 CDs!) and an autographed CD collection. Every Monday, three new questions will be posted whose answers can found by searching through specific areas of the site. Broadway fans can enter the contest by visiting MASTERWORKSBROADWAY.COM and signing up for the free newsletter.

In its first year, MASTERWORKSBROADWAY.COM has continued its mission to preserve the history of the cast album with the addition of over 600 recording session photos, 65 cast album pages and 50 artist biographies. Dozens of videos have been added in the past year, including a behind-the-scenes look at the recording of the new Broadway musical Wonderland and a 24-part series from the recording session of the Tony-winning revival of Promises, Promises starring Kristin Chenoweth and Sean Hayes. More new videos featured the famous song deconstructions of Broadway notable Seth Rudetsky, as well as the musical theater musings of noted journalist/author Peter Filichia. A brand-new video series featuring the "Legends of Broadway" will be announced soon.

A celebration and testament to America's unique art form, MASTERWORKSBROADWAY.COM documents the history of the cast album from Finian's Rainbow (1947), through the Grammy and Tony-winning revival of West Side Story, to the new Frank Wildhorn musical, Wonderland (2011). The site includes a catalog of more than 400 Broadway cast recordings - together receiving over 265 Tony Awards, 450 Tony nominations and 27 Grammy Awards. Elements of the site include hundreds of never-before-seen recording session photos, a weekly blog by Peter Filichia (Newark Star Ledger, Theatremania.com), an enormous streaming library of cast recordings, as well as podcasts with Broadway notables including Stephen Sondheim, Angela Lansbury, Bernadette Peters and others.

The Masterworks Broadway catalog includes some of the most prestigious shows including South Pacific, Anything Goes, The Sound of Music, My Fair Lady, Sweet Charity, Annie, Hello, Dolly!, Fiddler on the Roof, A Little Night Music, Hair, Sweeney Todd, A Chorus Line, Hairspray, Cabaret, Avenue Q, 1776, Camelot, Nine, Gypsy, Chicago, Oliver!, The Producers, La Cage Aux Folles, The Who's Tommy and the biggest stars including Patti LuPone, Nathan Lane, Ethel Merman, Alfred Drake, Mary Martin, John Raitt, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jason Alexander, Danny Kaye, Barbara Cook, Raul Julia, Dick Van Dyke, Chita Rivera, Richard Burton, Robert Goulet, Liza Minnelli, Carol Channing, Julie Andrews, Rex Harrison, Glenn Close, Jerry Orbach, Matthew Broderick, Yul Brynner, Audra McDonald, Mandy Patinkin, Idina Menzel, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Matthew Morrison, Kelli O'Hara, Elaine Stritch, Barbra Streisand and more!
