NICOLE AT SXSW & VEVO POWERSTATION PERFORMANCE:

Nicole took SXSW by storm this year, playing parties for Paste, Rolling Stone, Steve Madden and Sneak Attack, as well as an official showcase which was broadcast on last Friday's Last Call with Carson Daly.
Time Magazine featured Nicole as one of the "Ten Acts That Rocked South By Southwest," saying that Nicole and her band The Black Sea "put on a soulful, captivating show, with a lush, dark wall of sound behind Atkins' wailing vocals of love gone bad. The audience stood transfixed and some surely joined a growing list of devotees."
SPIN called Nicole Atkins & The Black Sea "The Best Live Band" of SXSW, saying Nicole "poured herself into the dark torch song "Hotel Plaster," praying for a lover's embrace while stuck in a hotel room, then later she was Janis Joplin's big-winded kid sister, wailing on an extended blues solo."
While down in Austin, Nicole stopped by the VEVO Powestation, which was actually set up in an abandoned power plant. Amongst the pipes and metal, she cranked out a sweet rendition of "Cry Cry Cry."
