With every lyric derived directly from scripture, this is a compelling theatrical concert event accurately displaying the life and times of Jesus of Nazareth through song. GODSPEED features a live seven-piece band under the musical direction of Jonathan Daddis, and a cast of sixteen singers/actors who bring key characters of The Gospels to the stage.
GODSPEED stars John Bisaha as Jesus. John is a singer/songwriter who has performed throughout Southern California as Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, and toured nationally and internationally working alongside, and opening for such artists as Heart, Cheap Trick, Robin Trower and Blue Oyster Cult. John also recorded several albums with Disney, most notably the D2 soundtrack.
Charles St. Michael, who toured as Judas in the national tour of Jesus Christ Superstar, is featured as Jesus' accuser Annas. He was nominated twice for Best Musical Performance by LA Weekly and won a Garland Award from Backstage Magazine. He starred opposite Jean-Claude Van Damme in the motion picture The Eagle Path in 2010.
Sammy Oriti, creator of the WB's Emmy Nominated Series Coconut Fred, is the composer and director of Godspeed. This production at The Grove, produced by proprietor Sherry Kinison is calling families to experience a unique celebration of faith according to The Gospels at this significant time of Easter and Passover.
