QUEENS, NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ STATIC LOUNGE) Static Lounge, a local Astoria, Queens venue, will be launching a new weekly Latin music series with a live performance by renowned salsa group Los Ciegos Del Barrio on Saturday, April 30th from 10PM - 12AM. The band, whose name translates to "The
Blind Boys from the Neighborhood", is composed almost entirely of members who are legally blind. In light of the unique composition of the group, Static Lounge will be making a charitable donation to the
National Association for Parents of Children with Visual Impairments (NYC - NAPVI)-the band's favorite local charity.
Kenny Munoz, an owner of Static Lounge, says: "We are thrilled to be hosting Los Ciegos Del Barrio and their special salsa performance on April 30th. We are honored to donate a portion of the proceeds to NYC -NAPVI in their name. We can't think of a more exciting way to kick off our new weekly Latin music series, and we look forward to continuing to bring great Latin music to the Astoria community, hosting live salsa, meringue and bachata bands on
Thursday nights."
Los Ciegos Del Barrio is a multi-genre band based out of New York City. They specialize in bachata, merengue, salsa, cumbia, reggaeton, and rock in both English and Spanish. After just recently returning from a two week tour in Cuba, Los Ciegos Del Barrio is very excited to be hosting the launch of Static Lounge's Salsa Thursdays and joining their efforts to raise money for NYC-NAPVI.
