Kelli O'hara Gets Into Character On 5/31 Ghostlight Cd 'always', Singing The 'man Songs', Vamping As An Opera/country Star, Embracing Broadway Favorites And More
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Sh-K-Boom / Ghostlight Records) Kelli O'Hara Gets Into Character on Terrific New CD, 'Always' - Singing the 'Man Songs', Vamping as an Opera/Country Star, Embracing Her Broadway Favorites and More, O'Hara Shows Her Range, Humor and Confidence on May 31st Ghostlight CD

Barnes & Noble In-Store Set for May 31st
Town Hall Concert Confirmed for Friday, June 3rd at 8pm

Three-time Tony Nominee Kelli O'Hara gets into character on her upcoming CD, 'Always' - the buoyant 13-song collection, set for May 31st digital and brick-and-mortar release on Ghostlight Records, showcases O'Hara's range, sense of humor and command of the material, as she performs a collection of her favorite Broadway tunes, as well as songs she's shared in concerts throughout the world. To celebrate the release of 'Always,' O'Hara will perform at The Town Hall on Friday, June 3rd at 8pm.

'Always' is O'Hara at her most confident, as she embodies the characters in each tune with gusto. She takes charge of many songs traditionally associated with male leads, such as 'This Nearly Was Mine' from 'South Pacific', the title track from 'She Loves Me, and 'Finishing The Hat' from 'Sunday in the Park with George'.

Another highlight is the roller coaster of a song, 'They Don't Let You In The Opera (If You're A Country Star)' featuring music and lyrics by David Rossmer & Dan Lipton - this remarkable, hilarious tune was written for and tailored to O'Hara's particular charms and talents, and was premiered live at her acclaimed Lincoln Center American Songbook appearance. As the title suggests, this track is not to be missed.

O'Hara will celebrate the release of 'Always' with two New York appearances - a May 31st Barnes & Noble In-Store performance and CD signing, and the aforementioned June 3rd performance at The Town Hall. Tickets to the concert at The Town Hall are $50 and $45 and available through Ticketmaster, 800-982-2787, or www.ticketmaster.com , or by visiting The Town Hall Box Office at 123 West 43rd Street, 212-840-2824.

The CD's packaging includes a note from long-time collaborator Harry Connick, Jr. The album was Produced by Dan Lipton and Lawrence Manchester, Album Executive Producer: Kurt Deutsch. Music Direction and Arrangements by Dan Lipton. Recorded at MSR Studios, NYC, 2/19/11. Pre-order and get more details here: https://www.sh-k-boom.com/kelliohara_always.shtml

O'Hara's 2008 Ghostlight CD 'Wonder In The World' earned rave coverage, from USA TODAY to ABC-TV's Sandy Kenyon to New York Magazine and much more. 'Always' continues her long-standing relationship with the respected label.

She tours the country performing with jazz trios to symphony orchestras.
