The Decemberists Announce Additional Summer Tour Dates; Release Video For 'This Is Why We Fight'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Capitol Records) The Decemberists have announced an additional leg of Summer tour dates for July and August. Launching from their home state of Oregon on July 19, the run of dates will lead them across the Midwest on their way to their headlining performance on the opening night of the Newport Folk Festival, and bring them back to the West coast for shows at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles (August 12) and the Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival in San Francisco (August 13). It also includes return visits to both Chicago and Austin due to overwhelming demand. A limited presale of select dates is now underway here. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning April 22. See below for a full list of tour dates or visit The Decemberists' website.

The band has also released the video for "This Is Why We Fight," a cinematic tour-de-force by acclaimed director Aaron Stewart. "This Is Why We Fight" has garnered the band their first Top 20 single at Modern Rock and is just impacting AAA. It is the second single from the band's new album The King Is Dead (Capitol Records), which debuted at No 1 on the Billboard Top 200 after its January 18 release. The album also produced the band's career-first No 1 radio hit with the lead single "Down By The Water," which reached the top spot on the Mediabase AAA radio chart.
