Katy Perry Announces Additional Dates On The Hottest Tour Of The Summer
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Capitol Records) Pop superstar Katy Perry has announced a series of brand-new U.S. dates on her California Dreams 2011 World Tour sponsored by Shick Quattro for Women . The new shows commence on September 7 following on the heels of the summer North American leg of the tour, which kicks off Stateside on June 7th in Atlanta and runs through August 14th with two shows in Katy's Santa Barbara hometown. Katy just wrapped sold-out dates in the U.K. before heading to sold-out shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan in May. North American dates feature a rotating group of exciting openers, including Robyn, Janelle Monae, and Marina & The Diamonds. DJ Skeet Skeet performs on all dates.

Throughout the California Dreams Tour, Katy has been interacting with fans through social media networks. Concertgoers have been able to check in to venues using Facebook Places and Deals to receive special treats, as well as submit their Tweets via the "Tweet-to-Screen," powered by social curation start-up Mass Relevance - giant on-stage screens that welcome fans to each show and display live fan photos and tweets (via dedicated show hashtags), giving everyone in the audience the chance to share their thoughts, excitement, and anticipation before Katy hits the stage. A mini-version of the "Tweet-to-Screen" will also appear on Katy's tour diary (https://www.katyperry.com/tour-diary) to allow any fan anywhere in the world to participate in the excitement.

In addition, Katy has partnered with Tickets-for-Charity to offer special access to some of the best seats in the house on the California Dreams Tour. A portion of the proceeds from each purchase will benefit three charities that Katy has selected: Generosity Water, The Humane Society of the United States, and the Children's Health Fund. To date, her fans have raised over $100,000 in charitable donations. A limited number of premium seats benefiting these great causes are available now for select tour dates on www.ticketsforcharity.com. Katy is also inviting local Red Cross representatives to her UK shows to collect donations and is donating the proceeds from a light wand sold at the shows to the Red Cross, raising over $20,000 to benefit those affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

In other Katy news, "E.T.," the fourth single off Katy's Grammy-nominated album Teenage Dream, today ascends to the top position on Billboard's Pop Songs chart, becoming just the third album in the 18-year history of the chart to yield a quartet of No. 1s. The song follows "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg, the title cut and "Firework" to the top of the Nielsen BDS-based mainstream top 40 radio airplay ranking. (When "E.T." ascended to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, where it has reigned the past three weeks, "Teenage Dream" similarly became only the ninth album to produce four No. 1s in the chart's 52-year archives). The epic sci-fi music video for "E.T.," directed by Floria Sigismondi and featuring Kanye West, premiered two weeks ago and has over 24 million views: https://www.vevo.com/watch/katy-perry/et/USCA31100006.
