New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Girlie Action) Over a decade since the release of their beloved debut album, Rival Schools have finally delivered their follow-up, Pedals (Photo Finish/Atlantic Records), much to the delight of their fans. In between playing sold out shows, including recent European dates with Trail of Dead, the band released videos for the anthemic one-two punch of "Wring It Out" and "Shot After Shot." They also enlisted Ad-Rock of the Beastie Boys to do a remix of the song "69 Guns." Producer Blockhead (Aesop Rock, MURS) and Daryl Palumbo (Glassjaw/Head Automatica) have done remixes for Rival Schools as well, which will be available May 3rd. "[Rival Schools] have the power to move, inspire, and heal" -Revolver "Pedals reveals a group of reenergized vets" -SPIN Click HERE to stream Ad-Rock's take on "69 Guns," which premiered at SPIN.com yesterday. He replaces the original's jagged guitar riffs with spaced-out production and a driving bassline. Only frontman Walter Schreifels' sweeping vocals are kept, with the remix essentially deconstructing Rival Schools' track and creating an entirely new song. According to drummer Sam Siegler was exactly what the group wanted. The guys have also been confirmed to play Lollapalooza this year and will be kicking off a west coast tour in late May.
