New York, (Top40 Charts/ Blue Note Records) Singer-songwriter-composer-producer-engineer Keren Ann kicks off her North American tour in June to support her latest album 101, on EMI's Blue Note Records. The 16-date run begins with two New York shows, June 7th at the Bell House in Brooklyn and June 8th at the Bowery Ballroom in Manhattan, and will close on June 28th in Toronto at the
Drake Hotel. The coast-to-coast run will be making stops in Boston, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles. See full list of tour dates below.
Keren Ann's first new album in four years, 101, was released on March 22. It's her fourth Blue Note release and sixth solo album overall. People Magazine called the album "mesmerizing" and Entertainment Weekly raves, "The Israeli-born chanteuse plays Francoise Hardy-esque fille mysterieuse on her husky, atmospheric latest." Check out her profile piece which ran in New York Times Magazine titled "Gangsta Folk" here. The danceable first single "My Name is Trouble" shows a surprising yet entirely natural evolution of Keren Ann's sound. 101 truly embodies what Keren Ann's music is all about: the songs, the voice, the sound.
Keren Ann was born in Caesaria, Israel to a Javanese-Dutch mother and Russian-Israeli father. She was raised in Paris, but now shares her time between Paris and Tel Aviv when not on the road touring. She began captivating U.S. critics and audiences in 2004 with the stateside release of Not Going Anywhere, and proved that she was here to stay with 2005's Nolita and 2007's Keren Ann.
