Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ It's Alive! Media) Cambodian and American rock band DENGUE FEVER (www.denguefevermusic.com) announced today that their music is featured in the upcoming film, The Hangover Part II (https://hangoverpart2.warnerbros.com/), to be released theatrically on May 26. The track, "1000
Tears of a Tarantula" appears in a street scene as The Hangover Part II is set in Bangkok, Thailand.
"1,000
Tears of a Tarantula" can be found on DENGUE FEVER's 2005 release Escape From Dragon House. Currently, the band is working in support of Cannibal Courtship, their fourth full-length album of new material, which was released on April 19, 2011 on Fantasy Records/Concord
Music Group. The band will perform tracks off Cannibal Courtship live on KCRW's signature radio program, Morning Becomes Eclectic (https://www.kcrw.com/music/programs/mb) on June 22 in Los Angeles.
Reviews from Cannibal Courtship have appeared in a variety of publications both in the U.S. and abroad. From Spin magazine ("Dengue's charmingly awkward blend of indie rock and Cambodian pop, as sung by the dazzling Chhom Nimol, is mirrored in bittersweet songs laden with interracial romantic ennui") and Blurt online ("Cannibal Courtship has the potential to break them through to top-line indie status. It couldn't happen to a more intriguing or more musically delightful outfit") to 4/5 star rave reviews in both Mojo and Uncut in the U.K., Cannibal Courtship is DENGUE FEVER's most well-rounded record yet.
