Brooklyn, NY (Top40 Charts/ September Gurl - News) Brooklyn based performer Stephanie Carlin has successfully met her Kickstarter campaign goal to raise $5000 to fund her new album, with hours to spare. The campaign ends at 1am on Friday, May 27th, her 21st birthday. She reached the $1000 mark within 24 hours of starting the campaign. In addition to the prizes associated with each dollar amount, all patrons receive some extras, like a video of Stephanie performing an acoustic version of the Rebecca Black "unhit" " Friday". The Kickstarter money will help fund the recording of Stephanie's first full-length and yet to be named album at Flux Studios in Manhattan. She is working with renowned producer Matt Pierson (Diana Krall, Kirk Whalum, Brad Mehldau, Jane Monheit) and a stellar group of musicians including bassist Alan Hampton (Gretchen Parlato), drummer Nate Wood (Kneebody) and pianist David Cook (Lizz Wright, Natasha Bedingfield). The album will deal with the themes of the supremacy of love, the controversies within our society, and the majestic struggle of the Self. Since the release of her debut ep, the Agony and Ectasy of, in 2008, Stephanie has been receiving high praise for her voice that "belts sounds that tremble, swell, and then swoop downward before pausing and rising again" (The Southampton Press) and her mature and honest songwriting. A download of "Infinity Scars" off that ep, is available here: https://download.yousendit.com/cnJnblRoSU9uSlN4dnc9PQ Stephanie will be hosting a Kickstarter celebration/birthday bash on Saturday, May 28 at Abigail Cafe & Wine Bar (807 Classon Ave).
