Elegiac Death Cab Cover By Detroit 'Rock/Soul Vet' (USA Today) Premieres On American Songwriter

New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) American Songwriter premiered Stewart Francke's, Detroit's longtime "rock/soul veteran" (USA Today), gorgeous version of Death Cab For Cutie's "I'll Follow You Into The Dark" today.

The song is available on Francke's new album 'Heartless World' (5.31) which also includes cameos from Bruce Springsteen and Mitch Ryder.

"It's ultimately a song of enduring hope," said Francke. "Ben Gibbard locked into something with just voice and guitar that's transformational--I saw no reason to try and do that again...so we made it a full band version with bass, drums and a long, elegiac piano intro."
