The Band Perry Beats Attendance Expectations With Fourth Of July Shows
Nashville, TN (Top40 Charts/ Republic Nashville) Newly-named nominees for two Teen Choice Awards, The Band Perry, launched into a series of headlining performances over Fourth of July Weekend that exceeded capacity expectations and more than delivered on energy and crowd interaction.

It's proof that The Band Perry has become a captivating headlining act in their own right, even as they continue having the experience of a lifetime opening for Tim McGraw and are looking forward to opening dates for Keith Urban (September) and Reba McEntire (December).

At TBP's June 30th performance, fans exceeded capacity at the KC Live! Stage at the Power & Light District in Kansas City, MO - 12,500 fans were admitted but 2,000 had to sadly be turned away by organizers due to space restrictions. On July 1, at the Hillsboro Festival of The Bells in Ohio, attendance exceeded 18,000. On July 2, the trio played close to home in Rogersville, TN where over 40,000 friends and family members made up the audience. The Band Perry closed out the weekend on the Louisville, KY Waterfront Park on July 3, when 75,000 showed up, despite inclement weather.

"This band just wowed the crowd," said Ashley Cox, director of Louisville Waterfront Independence Day Festival in Louisville, KY. "They played through the weather like complete professionals and turned a dark day into a Country & Rock show that won't soon be forgotten."

Next up, fans of The Band Perry will determine if they'll earn two Teen Choice Surfboards - for Choice Country Group and Choice Country Single ("If I Die Young") - at TEEN CHOICE 2011. Voting has already begun and fans can cast new votes each day. TEEN CHOICE 2011, the annual special that celebrates the year's hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports, comedy, fashion and the web will air live Sunday, Aug. 7 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.

"In an award show determined by fans, especially one that covers every aspect of entertainment, from Hollywood stars to athletes to musicians of all genres, we are thrilled to be thought of as one of the nominees to represent Country music," said Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry.

Ever-increasing fan attendance has gone hand in hand with TBP's recent sweep of fan-voted awards; last month at the 2011 CMT Music Awards, The Band Perry won the USA Weekend Breakthrough Video trophy and was also chosen by fans as Country music's best new live act in a category sponsored by Nationwide Insurance. Last April, fans voted for The Band Perry to win the coveted ACM Award for New Artist of the Year.

ABOUT THE BAND PERRY: The self-titled debut album by the family band was released in October 2010 by Republic Nashville and just four months later, it was certified Gold. The trio's "modern throwback" style combines classic Country with an eclectic infusion of Rock, Gospel and Soul. As songwriters and musicians, their sound is distinct and rounded out by the rare magic of perfect three-part harmonies. Their first single, the up-tempo "Hip To My Heart" was a Top 20 hit, followed by the inspiring, reflective "If I Die Young," which earned a Grammy nomination, reached No 1, was certified Double Platinum and racked up over 27 million views on YouTube. Their third single, "You Lie," is a sassy anthem of a woman scorned features wordplay that proves the pen is mightier than the sword. As their fastest-climbing radio single to date, "You Lie," catapulted into the Top 5 on Country Charts. Having previously garnered Grammy, CMA, CMT and ACA nominations, The Band Perry recently earned their first CMT Music Award for "USAWEEKEND Breakthrough Video of the Year" as well as ACM Awards for "New Duo or Group of the Year" and the coveted "New Artist of the Year." Currently they are on Tim McGraw's Emotional Traffic Tour and will join Keith Urban on the road in September and Reba McEntire in October.
