PORTLAND, OR. (Richmond Fontaine Official Website) - The thoroughly American band, Richmond Fontaine, who is coming off of a highly successful tour of the UK and Ireland, is planning a 13-date stint through much of the West and Midwest this summer. The tour begins on June 17th in San Francisco, CA, and culminates in Salt Lake City on July 3rd.

After years of touring and releasing albums, Post To Wire, the band's fifth album has struck a chord with critics and music fans alike in the U.S. and across the pond. In fact the UK's biggest rock magazine, Uncut has embraced the band two months in a row.
Last month Post To Wire was named "Uncut CD of the Month (5 stars)." "Fans of a certain kind of orphaned Americana are likely to fall on Post to Wire like apostles on The Grail," said an Uncut reviewer last month. The band is the subject of a five-page feature in this month's issue of the magazine.

Front man and songwriter Willy Vlautin and guitarist Dan Eccles just returned from a tour of the UK and Ireland, sharing the stage with the likes of Dave Alvin, Jay Farrar and The Creekdippers, and playing to adoring crowds at every gig.
"The response we've been getting for our music in England and Ireland has really been inspirational," says Richmond Fontaine front man and songwriter, Willy Vlautin who is often compared in the press to fiction writers like Raymond Carver, Charles Bukowski and Flannery O'Connor. "It'll be good to get back to our fans in the U.S."

Post To Wire was released to much critical acclaim earlier this year. Likened to such eclectic rock outfits as The Replacements, Uncle Tupelo and Gram Parsons, Post To Wire is the band's most finely wrought and commercially successful album to date. As the Seattle Times recently said in a review, "When we look back on things at the end of December, 'Post To Wire' just may be the best Northwest album of 2004."
