NEW YORK (KOCH Records Website) - KOCH Records is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated July 27th release of Silkk The Shocker's new studio album, Based on a True Story.

Featuring some of the rapper's best work to date, his new effort, Based on a True Story is his fifth full-length album in 8 years. The new album follows 2001's gold-certified My World My Way and 1999's platinum-plus smash, Made Man. Selling a phenomenal 240,244 copies in its first week at retail, Made Man debuted at No 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, unseating pop diva Britney Spears.

Silkk has been working on Based on a True Story for some time now and is ready to prove once again that he's more than a pretty face. The rapper makes a return to the airwaves with his new hard-hitting single, "We Like Them Girls" featuring Master P. "We Like Them Girls" is already climbing the Urban Radio charts and officially impacts at radio on May 24-25th.

The youngest of the Miller brothers (and the tallest at 6' 4"), Silkk The Shocker proved he had what it takes on 1998's Charge It 2 Da Game which sold more than 1.8 million copies (due in part to his hit duet with R&B diva Mya on "Movin' On").

Since the onset of his career, Silkk has remained a No Limit soldier through and through; besides his own hit records, he also appeared on many of No Limit's best sellers. To date, Silkk has sold over 3.5 million units.
