Los Angeles, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Cinemedia Promotions) Lakeshore Records today announced the release of
Warrior - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The album, featuring original score by Mark Isham (Crash, A River Runs Through It) and the song 'About Today' by acclaimed band The National, will be available digitally on August 29th and in stores on
September 13, 2011. The film will be released by Lionsgate on
September 9, 2011.
Warrior is a powerful story of redemption for a family involved in mixed martial arts. As a result, 'the score for Warrior has an extremely wide dynamic and dramatic range; perhaps more than any other score I've composed,' said Isham. 'While driven mostly by guitars, performed in a wide range of styles it also features modern minimalist cello as well as a dark and expressive orchestra of low brass and strings. These elements are joined by a large and powerful percussion section which galvanizes the music into exhilarating highs and frenetic lows.'
Said Lionsgate's Head of Film Music Tracy McKnight of the score, 'Mark Isham has written a truly unforgettable score that captures the spirit of the film perfectly by accentuating the emotional family dynamic and simultaneously elevating the vivid action sequences.'
