BURBANK, CA (Warner bros. press release) - Linkin Park has created a groundbreaking video for "Breaking The Habit," the latest single off their 4-times platinum Warner Bros. album "Meteora." The video for "Breaking The Habit was conceived by the bands turntablist and sampler Mr. Hahn and directed by renowned anime illustrator and animation director Nakazawa, the artist behind the animated sequence in Quentin Tarantinos "Kill Bill, Volume 1."
The "Breaking The Habit video was produced by Gonzo Digimation Studios, based on a story by Hahn, and is set to be released to video outlets in late May.

"Breaking The Habit is an attempt to convey the different view points of the various characters in a unified way," explains Hahn, who also wrote and directed such acclaimed Linkin Park videos as "Somewhere I Belong," "Point Of Authority," "Numb," and "From The Inside."
"The story involves tenants living in the same building in a city with a pulse, and uses imagery and music to reveal their motivations. It was originally going to be a live-action project, but when I saw the work of Nakazawa I realized that we could really open up the parameters through animation. His work is very expressive and captures human mannerisms perfectly, which was very important in portraying the band members who appear in the video."

"Breaking The Habit represents a breakthrough in music videos with its state-of-the-art anime work, which resulted from close creative collaboration between Linkin Park and Gonzo Digimation Studios, headquartered in Japan. The company is internationally known for combining 2D and 3D effects in a single animated scene, a technique used extensively in "Breaking The Habit."

Warner Bros Records will release a DVD package of the "Breaking The Habit video on July 17. As an enhanced value, the band teamed up with U.S. manga publisher TOKYOPOP Inc. to develop a "music manga" to include in the DVD package.
The 48-page book incorporates full-color images taken directly from the music video, freeze-framed into edgy spreads and peppered with manga-style text balloons and sound effects.

The Grammy winning Linkin Park have released two multi-platinum albums on Warner Bros. Records, "Hybrid Theory" and "Meteora" and are currently preparing to hit the road in late July for another installment of their Projekt Revolution Tour.
