NEW YORK (Eagle Rock Entertainment press release) - After wowing audiences with his outrageous fashion sense, sharp lyrics, melodic guitar-driven hard rock and colossal concert tours for nearly 35 years,
Alice Cooper is returning to the road this Summer for "The Eyes Of
Alice Cooper Tour" in support of his most recent album, The Eyes Of
Alice Cooper (Eagle 2003). Even though its has only been about 6 months since his last outing, its been an eternity to
Cooper fans.
Call him Master of Shock Rock, Black Humorist Supreme, or simply one of the era's great showmen, Cooper¹s impact on the entertainment world is undeniable, influencing everyone from KISS and Marilyn Manson to Madonna.
Each Alice Cooper tour has set a standard for technical wizardry and sheer theatrical imagination. This Summer, Alice will be performing in the same setting as his previous tour, providing the energetic show that surpasses all others both visually and musically. Backing Alice on the stage are his longtime bandmates; Ryan Roxie (guitar), Eric Dover (guitar/backing vox) and Chuck Garric (bass/backing vox), joined by new drummer Tommy Clufetos.
Alice Cooper¹s most recent album, The Eyes Of Alice Cooper, is simple, uncluttered and direct. Recorded in a minimalist garage-like studio setting by producer Mudrock (Godsmack, Powerman 5000), The Eyes Of Alice Cooper marks a return to Alice¹s musical roots-- raw and powerful, featuring his trademark clever lyrics, infectious melodies and a wall of guitars. It¹s a very modern-sounding two guitar rock and roll album, a collection of fast-paced, guitar-driven songs reflecting many of Alice¹s classic themes about frustration and teenage angst.
The end of 2003 saw Alice Cooper receiving his well deserved star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, setting in stone, once and for all, Alice¹s legendary status in entertainment history.
Alice is keeping busy this year with his nightly radio show "Nights With Alice Cooper," syndicated by United Stations in 16 markets and growing. Populated by Alice Cooper and a cast of characters, the show airs Monday-Friday from 7PM to midnight from a myterious location in the Arizona desert.
"The Eyes Of Alice Cooper Tour" kicks off in Europe in June before making its way to The States in July. Plans for Alice's annual Halloween Season Fall Tour are underway for Sept 24 through Oct 31 and those dates will be announced shortly. Alice hopes by then to reacquire his infamous stage "Electric Chair," currently on loan to Madonna.
