(Launch) - While John Mellencamp will have the Wallflowers out with him on most of his Cuttin' Heads tour dates this summer, he will share the bill with a completely different type of performer for two shows. Mellencamp will be joined by country music superstar Trisha Yearwood for the Aug. 6 show at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colo., and again the following night at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The duo is not expected to play any other shows together. Mellencamp's Cuttin Heads tour, which takes its name from the title of his upcoming album, kicks off July 31 in San Diego and closes with a two-night stand Sept. 21 and 22 at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, Ind. After a week's rest, Mellencamp will return to the venue on Sept. 29 for Farm Aid 2001, along with Neil Young and Willie Nelson. No other acts for that show have been announced yet.
