NEW YORK (Top40 Charts) - R&B superstar Usher scored a bit of a coup this week: Usher currently has three songs on Billboard's Top Ten list. It's a feat acts like The Beatles in 1964 and The Bee Gees in 1978 matched only once. The Beatles singles in question were 'I Want to Hold Your Hand', 'She Loves You' and 'Can't Buy Me Love'.
Also, in 1978 Bee Gees had 3 singles at USA Top-10: 'Staying Alive' (No 1), 'Night Fever' (No 8) and 'How Deep Is Your Love' (No 10). Usher's singles "Burn," "Yeah!," and "Confessions Part II" have snagged the first, fourth and ninth positions on the chart respectively. Yeah! spent 12 weeks at the top of the Billboard chart, a feat only equalled by Smooth by Santana in 1999 and Eminem's Lose Yourself in 2002. The songs are from the singer's album "Confessions," which is also reported to be doing roaring business. Confessions is only the second album this year to sell more than one million copies in its first week of release. Usher is also on target to break another Beatles' record too, if number nine single Confessions Part II replaces Yeah at the top of the pile!
