PRS For Music And Tiga Collaborate On Gaming & Music Event
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ PRS For Music) PRS for Music the organisation that represents the rights of 80,000 songwriters, composers and music publishers has announced a collaboration with TIGA, the trade association representing the UK games industry, for a music licensing and gaming event.

Gaming Meets Music
Understanding the creatives, the copyright, the connections is to be held on October 14th. The session targets music-using gaming start-ups and will address business-modelling, licensing and rights questions.

PRS for Music and TIGA have also announced a range of collaborative measures including the potential for joint membership options for those working in both music and gaming services, signposting and a programme to share knowledge and insight between both industries. PRS for Music will also look to replicate this partnership with others representing those working in the gaming, creative and technology industries.

Lucie Caswell Business Development Manager at PRS for Music said: "Digital gaming presents an increasingly important revenue stream for our members, be it in writing specifically for this sector or targeting repertoires for use by gaming services. Equally, our industries can learn from each other in terms of modelling, licensing and development as technology integrates our media. Anything that improves the way our industries work together, for our mutual benefit, our members and innovation, is something PRS for Music will be supportive of."

Richard Wilson CEO of TIGA said "Music is a crucial element of the creative process involved in video game development. Composers and audio companies including Richard Jacques Studio, Side UK, High Score Productions, OMUK and Nimrod Productions are already playing a vital part in the UK video-game music scene. TIGA now wants to provide best practice information and advice to music businesses and composers in the video games industry, especially in areas including IP rights and business modelling. We also want to promote more commercial opportunities for music and audio businesses in the games sector. Working with PRS for Music will help us to achieve these goals."
