New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ rhythmism) The American Museum of Natural History kicks off another season of One Step Beyond on Friday, October 14th, 2011 from 9 PM 1 AM. Nominated by Paper Magazine for Best Museum with a Party Scene, OSB lifts off in the Hall of The Universe with a headline DJ set by Best Coast and supporting DJ set by Max Tonnone. Space age visuals by Fuevoz (with VJs SeeJ and Benton-C) pierce the darkness while in the Hayden Planetarium, attendees can view the Whoopi Goldberg narrated Journey to the Stars. Tickets are $25, which includes a free future visit to the museum (general admission). This event will sell out, so get your tickets early at www.amnh.org/osb.

Best Coast DJ Set (Mexican Summer)
Best Coast was born when Los Angeles native Bethany Cosentino decided to return home after living in New York City. She quickly garnered praise from critics and listeners alike with the single Sun Was High (So Was I), and the Where the Boys Are cassette tape. After a series of additional singles Best Coast released their debut album Crazy For You on Mexican Summer Records in July 2010. Two years of touring, including Coachella, Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza, plus appearances on Letterman and Fallon and an acclaimed video for Our Deal directed by Drew Barrymore (https://on.mtv.com/r4EdJl) cemented their reputation as one of 2011's most loved bands. Max Tannone
New York City resident Max Tannone has created many unique remix albums, including one combining the sounds of rap king Jay-Z with British rockers Radiohead in Jadiohead, followed by a remix for the Beastie Boys promoting the re-release of their seminal Check You Head album. Tannone also created Mos Dub, which merges Brooklyn legend Mos Def with reggae masters like King Tubby and Lee Scratch Perry, and his album Ghostfunk mixes rapper Ghostface Killah with vintage African funk and rock music. Activaire DJs
Activaire, devoted to developing custom music programs, blends the disciplines of design and architecture with DJ culture.

The Rose Center for Earth and Space is one of the most beautiful public spaces in the world. Inside One Step Beyond, attendees can check out the Cullman Hall of the Universe and see artifacts of space and science, while the DJs and live acts provide suitably otherworldly experiences. Featuring extraordinary images from telescopes on the ground and in space and stunning, never-before-seen visualizations of physics-based simulations, the dazzling new Journey to the Stars launches visitors through space and time to experience the life and death of the stars in our night sky, including our own nurturing Sun. Tour familiar stellar formations, explore new celestial mysteries, and discover the fascinating, unfolding story that connects us all to the stars. Those who come along for the journey may never see the night sky in the same way again.

The One Step Beyond continues on November 4th, then greets 2012 with dates from January June. To stay on top of the latest news on the One Step Beyond event series, go to amnh.org/osb.
