Female Music Artists To Watch: Meredith Shaw, Amy Heffernan, Tara Priya & Deanna

Toronto, ON (Top40 Charts/ Skylar Entertainment) This fall Skylar Entertainment PR is celebrating the power of female vocalists by spotlighting four uniquely talented artists to watch out for. Meredith Shaw delivers stylistic variations of pop music that take a cheeky Lily Allen approach to the power vocals of Adele. Tara Priya combines vintage soul, poetic lyrics and a dash of pop with vocals being compared to legends Amy Winehouse, Billie Holiday and Etta James. Bringing light-hearted fun to the scene is Amy Heffernan with influences like No Doubt and Lady Gaga. Lastly, DeAnna's presence and vocals bring to mind the growl of Gretchen Wilson, the sweetness of Faith Hill, and the elegant strength of Juice Newton and Sheryl Crow.

"I've always been a huge fan of female vocalists from all genres of music," says Diane Foy, Director of PR at Skylar Entertainment, "therefore, I'm thrilled to be working with these four beautifully talented ladies, each with their own unique style." For those in Toronto there is an opportunity to see Shaw, Priya and Heffernan during the annual Indie Week festival October 12- 16 at various venues, while DeAnna performs at a few casinos in Saskatchewan.

Canadian songstress Meredith Shaw has been providing the sugar in Big Sugar this year after Gordie Johnson invited her to join the band on tour. Johnson produced Shaw's debut album Place Called Happy and the two recently remixed "Acted Badly" with DJ Friendlyness and a video is to be shot in December. Following Indie Week Shaw embarks on Big Sugar's fall national tour.

Alberta raised artist Amy Heffernan's album Being Awesome is now available on iTunes. The album features everything from the radio-friendly party anthem "Being Awesome", through the love song "I Do", and a Lady Gaga cover "Just Dance". It goes on to expose Amy's soul with the rip-your-heart-out break up song "The Word".

Tara Priya of Indian-Persian parentage, combines vintage soul, poetic lyrics, and a dash of pop to provide relief from today's Auto-Tune avalanche.
