NEW YORK (Artemis Records press release) - Fearless/Artemis recording artists Sugarcult have hit No 1 on the Billboard Independent Album Chart with their sophomore release Palm Trees And Power Lines. Fueled by the success of the first single, "Memory", the album has been steadily rising on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart over the past month - it enjoyed a leap of 36 spots on the Top 200 Album Chart just a few weeks ago.

The video for "Memory" is currently "Buzzworthy" at MTV and in the Top 10 at MTV2, mtvU and Fuse. The band will also be hosting an upcoming Fuse video block. "Memory" is also in the highest rotation at The N (Nickelodeon).
In addition, "Memory" has been featured on TRL's "Five For Friday" on MTV.

"Memory" also had a huge week at radio with adds at major market stations such as New York's Z100, Salt Lake City's KZHT and Sacramento's KDND. The single is also No 1 most played on Detroit's 89X, with over 40 spins per week.
Palm Trees And Power Lines and "Memory" are both in the Top 100 of album and single sales, respectively, on iTunes. The video for "Memory" is in the Top 100 chart of video streams on Yahoo! Launch.

Last Friday night, Sugarcult performed "Memory" on The Late Late Show With Craig Kilborn. This month, Sugarcult will appear on MTV's Hard Rock Live and the WB's Smash. The band will also be featured on the main stage of the Warped Tour this summer.
Palm Trees And Power Lines is the follow-up to 2001's 'Start Static'.
