MILAN, Italy (Giorgio Armani Press Release) - Giorgio Armani has joined forces with MGM Pictures in his latest wardrobe collaboration for the production of De-Lovely, an original musical film portrait of the legendary American composer Cole Porter.

Directed by Academy Award-winner Irwin Winkler, from a script by Jay Cocks, and starring Oscar-winner Kevin Kline, Ashley Judd and Jonathan Pryce, the movie is a sparkling celebration of Porter's extraordinary music as well as a stirring example of the artist's journey and the undying power of love.
The film also features some of today's biggest rock and pop stars in cameo roles, including Robbie Williams, Natalie Cole, Elvis Costello, Diana Krall, Sheryl Crow and Alanis Morrisette.

For the production, Armani worked in partnership with celebrated costume designer Janty Yates, winner of the Academy Award for her outstanding costume designs for Gladiator. Prior to the filming of De-Lovely, Armani and Yates met frequently for planning meetings and fittings in the Giorgio Armani Milan headquarters, where they created the signature period looks for Kevin Kline and Ashley Judd's characters as Cole and Linda Porter.

Giorgio Armani has been on the forefront of creating wardrobes for major motion pictures since he pioneered the movement by dressing Richard Gere in American Gigolo in 1980.
Since then, many films have incorporated designs by Armani, including Shaft, Primal Fear, The Untouchables, Gattica, Stealing Beauty, Double Jeopardy and The Tuxedo.
De-Lovely opens in select theatres in the United States on June 25, 2004.
