LONDON, UK (Top40 Charts) Adele has won twice at the 2011 Q Awards on 24 October in London. The singer, who missed the ceremony through illness leaving her producer Paul Epworth to do the honours, picked up the award for Q Best Female, while Rolling In The Deep was named Best Track at the ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel.
Coldplay were named Best Act In The World today in the public vote, while U2 were voted the Greatest Act Of The Last 25 Years in a special award to mark Q's birthday.
Other winners in the public vote included Ed Sheeran for Breakthrough Artist, Biffy Clyro for Best Live Act, while Q Best Male went to Tinie Tempah.
Meanwhile Noel Gallagher was honoured as Q Icon, Queen joined the Q Hall Of Fame, while Lana Del Rey was named the Next Big Thing by our specially assembled jury.
Gary Barlow, who is currently working as a judge on The X Factor, scooped the 2011 Q Award for Classic Songwriter.
The 2011 Q Awards ceremony took place at London's Grosvenor Hotel this afternoon, October 24, and saw some of the best contemporary acts recognised for their contributions to music over the past 12 months.
