Seattle, WA (www.canarypromo.com/saeta, www.saetamusic.com) - The Seattle trio Saeta will release their fourth full-length CD We Are Waiting All For Hope on July 13th. Recorded and mixed by Steve Albini at Electrical Audio in Chicago, the CD is a follow up to their highly acclaimed 2002 release, Resign to Ideal. Saeta's songs are dramatic, subtle, and intimate odes to the darker sides of human emotion. The group blends their essential acoustic elements of piano, guitar and cello with both male and female vocals. Guitarist/vocalist Matt Menovcik's dark vocal current stirs a baritone ocean that pianist/vocalist Lesli Wood's voice lights through a broken sky, while Bob Smolenski?s cello binds the two together. Smother.net said of, "this may be one of the most important indie offerings this year." After years of playing and listening to live music together in Detroit, Menovcik and Wood founded Saeta in 1998 after moving to Seattle. Releasing their first full length in 1999, the band began a string of releases that involved impressive recording collaborations with Shimmy-Disc honcho and recording artist Kramer, spacerockers Windy and Carl, and now the legendary Albini. * Saeta discography - We Are Waiting All For Hope (2004), Fish the Cat Records - Resign to Ideal (2002), Fish the Cat Records - Structure in the Void (2001), Recurving Records - Burn (1999), self-released
